Australian mezzo-soprano Hannah Fraser completed her Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2013. Following her graduation, she took up a position with Song Company, Australia’s most prestigious vocal group. Both as an operatic soloist and through her continuing experience with this elite group of musicians, Hannah’s schedule has consisted of a mix of national and international touring, multiple subscription series across Australia, festivals, recording and broadcast projects, fully-staged operas, educational activities and cross-artform collaborative projects.
In 2017 Hannah made her operatic debut in Austria and the Czech Republic as part of the Prague Summer Nights Festival where she performed the role of Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart). In 2018 she was one of 15 candidates selected from around the world to join the Academy of Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” in collaboration with the reputable Festival della Valle d’Itria. It was here she studied the art of Belcanto singing with many of Italy's most respected coaches & directors, preparing and presenting a variety of operatic programs. Following her masterclasses with Fabio Luisi & Richard Bonynge AC, CBE, she was chosen to perform Stravinsky’s Three Songs from William Shakespeare and the roles of Berta (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini) and Angelina (La Cenerentola, Rossini).
Most recently Hannah performed Pergolesi's Stabat Mater & Vivaldi's Stabat Mater as a result of winning the 'ex-aequo prize of the XIII ancient Fatima Terzo' early music competition. On the concert platform, Hannah is versed in a wide variety of styles and genres though specialises in early music and has performed Hildegard's Ordo Virtutum, Orazio Vecchi's A Night in Siena, Demantius's St John Passion, Monteverdi's Missa in illo tempore, Handel's Messiah and Saul, Bach’s B Minor Mass, Magnificat & St John Passion, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Stabat Mater, Girolamo Abo’s Stabat Mater, Haydn's Seven Last Words, Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Beethoven's Mass in C, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Schumann's Requiem für Mignon, Durufle’s Requiem and Berio's Cries of London. Her most recent chorus works include; Purcell’s King Arthur, Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride, Handel’s Theodora, Haydn’s Heiligemesse and Peteris Vasks’s Messe.
All the above experiences have led her to develop and work alongside many highly regarded musicians, orchestras and ensembles from around the world some of whom include;
